Bluetooth Handset – Modded to be funnier

photo

I recently bought a Mockia Retro Bluetooth handset from retrobluetooth.com

My idea is to use it in combination with a classic bell ringtone on my iPhone – perhaps even going the whole hog and using one of the rotary phone dial apps. Imagine the look of surprise on my work colleagues faces when my phone rings and I pull a full sized handset out of my inside pocket. OK well not the funniest or most original idea in the world – but the kind of thing that makes me chuckle.

Anyway the Mockia handset is ideal, a proper bluetooth handset with inbuilt answer and volume controls, rechargeable via a normal USB socket with adaptor lead.

There was just one problem – it didn’t look as funny as I thought it would. I couldn’t just put my finger on it – but it just seemed less ludicrous than I anticipated.

Then it hit me, I know what it needed. So out came the drill together with a spare piece of cable and voila 10 minutes later the phone was transformed into comedy gold. mokia-mod

Its amazing what difference a tiny piece of wire makes.

  2. Thanks Benson – I’m not too clued up with WordPress/Twitter integration. I’ve got the Twitter account displayed in the right hand column – but I’m not a big Twitterer (yet).
